Saline County is a county located in the U.S. state of Arkansas. Its county seat and largest city is Benton.〔(【引用サイトリンク】accessdate=2011-06-07 )〕 Saline County was formed on November 2, 1835, and named for the salt water (brine) springs in the area, however, it is pronounced "Suh-line" instead of the typical pronunciation, "Say-line". Until November 2014, it was an alcohol prohibition or dry county. Saline County is included in the Little Rock–North Little Rock–Conway, AR Metropolitan Statistical Area. ==Geography== According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the county has a total area of , of which is land and (0.9%) is water.
